Welcome to the Bachelor of Technology e-Car project!
This 7-week car project will attempt to convert a 1987 Volkswagen Cabriolet from being gas powered to electrically powered. The car we bought used and it will be assembled at Mohawk College in Stoney Creek STARRT Campus and it involves the Third Year McMaster Bachelor of Technology class of 2012 in the Automotive Technology branch.
We will be documenting the project throughout the the 7 weeks, by posting the theory behind the car, pictures of the development, and the actual process of the car converting into an electric vehicle.
We named the e-Car the ‘Voltswagen’ and we hope to make the car run, by the seventh week.
